A Decade of Brown…Gone!

After nearly a decade, we have decided to mix it up with the paint colors in our house. In fairness, half of us (Virginia) wanted to go lighter years ago.

Our previous houses had brown colors throughout. Our Charleston house was painted Stone Lion by Sherwin Williams and our first Missouri house was Moose Mousse by Valspar. Both were great colors, but 10 years of a similar color is a long time. After rummaging through the basement, we discovered that our new house was also Stone Lion!

For our Wildhorse house, we chose a custom color based on Stokes White used by Megan Stokes in her Charleston, SC home. As our Sherwin Williams doesn’t carry the Harmony product, they were able to match the color in their Cashmere paint type using a different formula. Here is the custom formula we used to for our main floor.

So far we have painted the living room, and part of the foyer. We can’t wait to show you the final product once we have updated the lighting. Here is a side by side comparison of Stone Lion vs. our custom color.
